The Net-Leet CTF Nations Cup

General rules

NetL33t Nations Cups are online tournaments for European teams.
The size of the cup is determined after the registration period based on the number of teams that have subscribed and on what I believe is managable.
Nations who violate the following rules may see a match result changed to a forfeit loss, or be removed from the cup altogether.
Abusive behaviour towards an admin or an opponent, both during a match or outside the matches, can result in the team being removed from the cup.

Match Admins

A match admin makes sure the match is played according to the rules, records demos, takes screenshots, and enters the match result and a match report with screenshots.
If you want to become an admin, email frax (frax@net-leet.com) or #net-leet. Someone who is not appointed as an admin (yet) may admin a match only if both clans are made aware of this and agree with it.
If a team breaks a rule (e.g. by fielding a player with an incorrect guid) without the match admin noticing then it is still their full responsibility.
Match admins are free to chase any player during a match.
If no admin is available for a match, the clans should do the following:
Follow the procedures explained in the cup rules
Keep logs of everything that is said on IRC
Make demos and screenshots
Send the match result and the screenshots to frax (frax@net-leet.com) right after the match.

Players

Teams who quit the cup are likely to be excluded from the next cup season.
Players always have to be easily identifiable to both admins and spectators. Therefore, before and during all matches, players have to use the name with which they are registered in their team on www.net-leet.com.
Teams can only use players who have the registered guid on the website
Players may not play for more than one team.

Server Settings

Punkbuster: On. A server with punkbuster off may only be used if both teams agree.

There is no overtime.

Match Rules - League stage

Matches are played 5 on 5.
A match is played over 2 or 3 maps
A map win gets 2 points and a map loss is 0 points, a map draw results in 1 point each. The first team to get 3 match points wins the match.
Only the first two maps may end in a draw. In the 3rd map sudden death is played if needed until one team makes a cap.
If a 3rd map is needed:
The teams take turns eliminating maps from the list below until one map is left. The team with the highest caps over the 2 maps can decide who eliminates the first map.
If both teams have the same number of caps, then the team who won the first map decides who eliminates a map first. If the first two maps both ended in a tie, the admin decides.
maps must be selected from the following:
    * q3ctf2
    * q3w3
    * q3w7
    * q3wcp1
    * q3wcp5
    * q3wcp9
    * q3wcp14
    * q3wcp15
    * q3wcp22

A forfeit loss corresponds to a loss of all maps.
Players that dont show up will be dropped from the tournment and a reserve players may be brought in.

All teams play 1 match against the 5 other teams in their group. The first 3 teams of each group qualify for the cupstage, where the both group-winners directly qualify for semi-finals.
The teams placed 2nd and 3rd qualify for quarter-finals, where the team placed 2nd in Division 1a plays against the team placed on 3rd in Division 1b, and the team placed 3rd in Division 1a plays against the team placed 2nd in Division 1b.

The game

Both nations captains select a map from the map pool and tell the opposition, use and admin if you dont want to tell opposition, nations are allowed to chose the same map
pause for 999's only, no tactical pauses allowed, players using pauses for tactical reasons will recieve a warning, 2 warnings = map loss.

Match roster and schedule of games

A predefined roster determines which match must be played. Matches are to be played on the day of the tournement. Matches can be organised amongst captains to fall on another day.
Once a match has been rostered by the captains or cup supervisor it must be played. Teams are allowed to declare they cannot play from a rostered time only once in the tournament.
The match results will be posted at www.net-leet.com under the results section
Teams must arrange the wars with the captain of the opposing team in advance of the start time.

Server

A server has been assigned to the cup, you must organise using the server under the cup server section on www.net-leet.com, if the server is not provided then teams must find a server in advance of the start time. This server must be fair. Fair is defined as no more or less than +/- 15 m/s between the teams. The admins decision on servers is FINAL.

Spectators

A GTV system will be set up so people can spectate. The general rule is no spectators during a match on the server, however if both teams agree, and only if they both agree, people can be allowed to spectate.

After the match
Please submit the results to frax
Players are encouraged to record and submit demos of the match. Demos and screenshots can be uploaded at the bottom of the results page.
